hi,
I have to incorporate a subreport into my main report. if my main report shows state, county, city and my subreport shows county and school name. how can I show just the schools that are in that county.
my question is how can I apply a condition to show schools in the subreport where county name (subreport ) = county name (main report) ?
attached is an image of the layout.
I know it's probably easy but I'm new to Crystal.
thank youYou can link the subreport with the main report. Right-click on sub-report and select 'Change Sub-report links' option. In the Link window, select the 'County Name' field from the Main report. Select the checkbox 'Select Data in Subreport based on field'.
Hope it helps !!!
Rashmi|||yup that was it .thank you very much

How to force a subreport not to break to the new page?
Hello,
I have a subreport embeded into the main report. When the subreport contains
more data than it can be displayed on the same page, it breaks to the next
page leaving the previous one almost empty.
Does anybody know a solution for keeping subreport data on the same page as
much as possible and breaking to the next page with the rest of data that
does not fit to the first page?
Thank you in advance.
EdmundasI've found out that if the size of the (body and report itself) of the
subreport is small enough, this occurs less, but this seems like a work
around...|||> When the subreport contains

I am having the same issue. The main report is very simple - a table with 2
detail lines - the second detail line has the subreport in it. The subreport
is a simple table with one header and one detail band.
Like StefanO-nl - I don't see this problem on other reports where the
subreport has a small number of rows.
Is there any kind of work-around for this? A sub-report is a highly useful
thing, so I'd hate to not be able to use it because of page-break weirdness
in PDFs.
I just installed RS SP2 (client only) for development, and it did not fix
the problem.

it seems that if the subreport has a height of .1 and a width equal to the
width of the widest report item, random pagination does not occur.

How to find out if a subreport has data
I have a report and a subreport.
I have a toggle on the report that I want to show/hide based on whether
or not the subreport has data.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks in advance!
ShaneImplement the following way:
Say u have subreport 'Report1' and main report 'Report'
1) Apply visibility condition in the subreport 'Report1'
2) Now use that subreport 'Report1' in ur main report 'Report'.
Regards,
SaraS|||Thanks Sara. I'm wondering how to set the visibility condition.|||shane.eckel@.seattlesoftware.com wrote:

I haven't tested it myself, but you should be able to set the NoRows
property in the cell (i.e. textboxN) holding the subreport to "NODATA"
and then set the visibility expression to
=(textboxN.Value="NODATA")|||Thanks for your reply, however, the problem I'm having is with
indicating whether or not the subreport has data. The visibility issue
is secondary. Does anyone have a specific way of determining if a
subreport has data?
Thank you in advance.|||SleepLab did answer your question from the way you initially asked it and
also mentioned how to tell if you have no data. The subreport is based on a
dataset, right? So set the NoRows property on the dataset the subreport is
tied to ... when the query is run it will trigger whatever you put in NoRows
to occur. Unless I am missing something I still think the NoRows property on
the subreport is your answer.
